Dare to experience one of Puerto Williams’ most iconic walks. The hike up Cerro Bandera takes you through southern beech forests and pristine landscapes to one of the finest panoramic viewpoints in the far south.
Tour itinerary
We’ll start our adventure at the Róbalo River (río Róbalo) catchment area, the starting point of a round-trip trek of approximately 7 km, ascending along a trail surrounded by lush native forests of lenga, coihue, and ñirre trees.
As you advance, you’ll immerse yourself in the pure nature of Navarino Island (isla Navarino), enjoying a silent, pristine environment far from the urban pace.
Upon reaching the summit of Cerro Bandera (600 m a.s.l.), you’ll be greeted by the iconic Chilean flag that gives this place its name. From this privileged lookout, you can take in an incomparable panoramic view of Puerto Williams, the Beagle Channel (canal Beagle), Tierra del Fuego, and—weather permitting—the majestic Dientes de Navarino.
After soaking in the scenery, we’ll begin the descent along the same trail back to the starting point, where transportation will be waiting to take us comfortably back to town—capping an unforgettable experience at the end of the world.
